Loving God; Loving Neighbor

Mission

Highland UMC is involved in mission in the Local and Regional Community as well as across the State, Country, and World.  Many of our Sunday School classes, UMW circles, and UMM participate in service projects and support many outreach ministries.
Some of our Mission Projects include:

Downtown Church United - We provide lunch to people in Petersburg twice a quarter (Eight times year) at churches in Petersburg.  Our next day to feed will be on Monday, October 9th at Quinn Hall.

Rural Area Medical Project (RAM) - We support the efforts of RAM.  A team from Highland traveled to Norton, VA from July 27 - 29 to help in the distribution of medicine and food.

Tutoring - A new project to be started in the Fall of 2006 will be tutoring elementary children, at the church, from Colonial Heights.

Missionary Support - We have a Covent relationship with Charles and Patty Maddox through the General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church.

Initatives of Hope - We support the Initiatives of Hope project in Russia through the work of the Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
